2013 marks the third year Video Bob and Oakside Community Park have teamed up to host the Lead Scene East Show. We are excited that our show sponsor, Musselman’s Apple Sauce, and most of the other sponsors from last year have enough faith in the things we are doing to support us and keep the show going for another year, the 29th. Planning is well underway and once again we have reviewed survey comments from last year and incorporated them where we could. Some of the new (and “old”) items for this year are :
1.The featured Auto for this year’s show is Al Bailey’s beautiful 1956 “Cotton Candy” Merc. It has been the ISCA Champion three times.
2.Back by popular demand, The Assisted Living Band will play the Saturday night concert. They are an outstanding group who feature Elvis’s first sax player, Del Puschert. They are sure to have the place rocking like they did last year.
3.We have added an afternoon band on Saturday June 8th for your listening enjoyment. Buck-n-Chet is a favorite local band that plays a mixture of 80’s & 90’s country, rock and southern rock. We feel sure they will be a big hit.
4.The Friday night Poker Run was such a big hit last year that we are repeating it this year. Paticipating cars will drive to six spots in the Biglerville and Gettysburg areas to pick cards for a Poker Hand. The top four hands will win cash prizes of $100, $75, $50, and $25. Showing a receipt from two of the local sponsors will earn two extra cards at the last stop for a seven card hand from which to choose the best five.
5.Our DJ’s, Ken & Ruth Ryan Productions will be back running contests and giving away coupons for free items at local sponsors.
6.Some new awards for best classic car and hard luck have been added meaning we are giving away even more cash prizes.
7.We have added a reduced registration fee for Saturday only. The only restriction will be that those registrations will not be available for the cash awards given out on Sunday. They will be eligible to participate in the participant Cash drawing if they enter a receipt from one of our local sponsors.
We hope you plan to attend for some good music, good food, good fellowship and lots of fun. Check out the rest of the site for more details on these and other events.
Sincerely,
Bob Tate,
