The 2012 Lead Scene East Show is rapidly approaching and planning for the event is reaching a fevered pace. Video Bob and the Oakside Staff are working very hard to make this year’s show a memorable one for all who attend. We are making several changes and adding new features according to the feedback we received from last year’s surveys. Some of these are :
1. The featured Auto for this year’s show is the Batmobile from one of the original movies. Batman will be on hand on Saturday afternoon for picture opportunities.
2. The Assisted Living Band will play at the Saturday night concert. Those of you who attended the Friday night Sock Hop heard them last year and can attest to their quality. The group features Elvis’ first sax player, Del Puschert. Most of the members played for groups such as the Drifters and Platters back when Rock and Roll was King.
3. The Friday night Sock Hop has been replaced by a Poker Run. Paticipating cars will drive to five spots in Gettysburg to pick cards for a Poker Hand. The top three hands will win cash prizes of $100, $75 and $50. Showing a receipt from one of the local sponsors will earn an extra card at the last stop.
4. The DJ’s during the day, Ken & Ruth Ryan Productions will be running contests and giving away coupons for free items at local sponsors.
5. Some new awards have been added meaning we are giving away even more cash prizes.
6. We have added a reduced registration fee for Saturday only. The only restriction will be that those registrations will not be available for the cash awards.
7. We have reduced the spectator admission fee to $8.00 for adults with Under 14 admitted free.
We hope you plan to attend for some good music, good food, good fellowship and lots of fun. Check out the rest of the site for more details on these and other events.
Sincerely,
Bob Tate,
